Usually "Charge" is good because it allows units to maneuver properly instead of forcing them to stay in a certain area. If there is no cover, forest, or river, it's just CAVALRY CHARGE! I try to run in first to knock them all down before my cavalry hits.

Move towards the crest of the hill, but not up far enough so they can shoot at me.ġ00 Hero(ine) Adventurers, a few Adventurers in training, Knights of the Dragon + whatever other elite cavalry ive rescued (windriders, knight orders, noldor nobles) then sweep down and utterly destroy the enemy force. That's why I prefer physically moving there and showing them where to hold.įind their guys, and run behind the hill nearest them. You might get the correct direction, but your distance will be way off. It's impossible to survey the field, see a good place to park your archers, and point "GO THERE" by using the map. There's no hills, trees, or streams to judge where to hold position. You're pointing to an X, Y coordinate on a chart with only your dudes and their dudes to go by. The problem with the point-and-click on the map is that the map isn't topographical. I do like using it as a reference to see what orders I have assigned. I'd rather it be in and unnecessary than be missing and necessary. The mini-map screen is an optional feature, after all. they're true warriors of true steel of the true forest of metal and other heavy minerals. it's not very realistic to have to have them follow you and then telling them to stay there.

I pay about 12000 per payday, with 10 leadership.Īlso, I use the minimap to tell my silvermists where to go position themselves. These infantry all chill in my castle while I'm out doing most things and cost a shit ton. I stand in the back with a siege crossbow and kill people so I can better direct the battle and not get KO'ed instantly.ĮDIT: My normal army is cavalry based. If you're massively outnumbered, you can even it up by killing the defenders who sally out to meet your assault, abandoning the siege, and repeating.ġ) Bring 150 immortals, legionnaires and pendor foot knights.

Bring a bow and a ton of arrows, pick people off the walls until you can get up the ladder and then pick people off in the melee (should be easy even with low bow skill) from a distance back once you can get on the wall. For sieges, move the cavalry to the bottom of your lineup. Your warband should be like half archers, 1/4 infantry, and 1/4 cavalry. None of my open field heavy cavalry experience carries over at all. Oh god how do I siege things it's like the hardest thing ever. The reason step 1 is make a backup is because it's easy to fuck things up and prevent the game from launching. Make sure you don't disturb anything else. Open up menus.txt and do a search for "mno_encounter_attack"ģ. Make a back up of your menus.txt in your Pendor folderĢ. What tweak do you speak of? I'm getting tired of not being able to kill the Noldor, and it's too much work to get them to hate me again.ġ. Then I completely crushed Ravenstern and won. I finally got that tweak working where you can choose to fight someone even if they're shining your shoes.
